Right then, I have blown my petro-chemical wad on trekking about of late, plus the gustiness and tricky wind directions mean I can't be arsed to put the thought in.

Anyway, I'm looking at New Year locally now. 1st and 2nd seem to suggest a respectable but hangover friendly swell and moderate offshores... That'll do...

None too happy.... Probably had a bottle of wine and finished drinking at 11.30. Internet says I'll give a positive test til 1pm and let's face it, they'll be checking... Pretty flat night too and I'm bang awake.

So it looks like an avo session. I'm sure nobody will think of seeing in the new year with a surf!

Having looked at metabolism in terms of breathalisers and finding that a bottle of wine takes 12-13 hours to clear I decided not to chance it as I suspected the cops would be on the hunt. That made me come to 2 decisions. Firstly, I'm only gonna drink when I genuinely know I won't be driving the next morning. Secondly, I decided to go to Seaton, having been texted by a mate to tell me that my first choice was amazing and that I should've texted him for a lift.

Anyway, Seaton was sunny, clean, mellow, soft and RAMMED. Ho hum... Had a few but will be up early tomorrow and heading to my reef.

Scooted round to Mounts Bay this afternoon with Al and a couple of mates. Waves were clean and perfectly mattable, maybe a touch smaller than what you scored in Seaton judging from that pic, but not by much. Mostly longboarders about.

Got suited and had a wicked hour of clean barrels whilst the others explored the mount. I decided to use Alison's wax deck Fatty and really got into the dreamier, more holdsome ride it gives. I'm coming round to the idea that each of the mats in our quiver has a unique stoke interface with the sea. Like a slightly different vibration. Stoke machines with different personalities - all good

Gonna run some extreme high-line experiments with the Vespa RT in due course. I'm in the mood to lark about

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!! f*cking winds are going proper west to WSW in the morning now. More f*cking sh*t sh*t surf. I've not had a really decent session the whole of this holiday and I've been off ages. f*cking p*ssed off with it now.

Looks like a few sheltered spot days coming up but it's:

3rd Jan - Wife's 40th

4th Jan - Can't drive as will have been drinking

5th Jan - Mum's birthday

6th Jan - I can surf and it looks like a decent swell with southerlies so some shelter (thank f*ck).

7-11th Jan - Start new job and have to do a 5 day week FFS. Winds currently look like they'll go light and even SE over that week...

c*nt, f*ck, sh*t, w*nk, f*cking, sp*nking, ball-munching, cck-sucking, p*ss flapping, tw*t baggers, I am sooooooooooooo f*cking sick of sh*t to make-do surf. I just want a proper session in clean, solid waves.

Got in at spot nr P'noe on N.Y day.Large and fast.
No go for Harlyn for me tomorrow.
Sat/Sun will get in first light at Hayle rivermouth.Prob Mon too.

After turning my nose up at mushy Harlyn in the company of a minibus full of whooping dudes, I've just had a pretty great session at Crantock. Just me and a big bull seal for the first hour followed by looking down the beach at a ski rider and his stand up son while I still had a peak to myself. Solid, long head high rights with bigger sets.

Just what I needed.

Epic, nasty meor water this morning. Either steeper than the north face of the Eiger or backed-off crud. Too big for my liking. Only had a couple of decent rides but better than nowt

You planning on Hayle Rivermouth tomorrow? I'm hopeful but the dog's pretty ill so might not happen.
