Really wanted one of these for a while an with my Brittany trip approaching I thought I should get on an make it.

Click on the pic to blow it up.

    Plywood Guitar Pick Paipo Plywoo12

Made from 1/4" (9mm) marine ply. 45 1/4" long, 19 3/4" at the widest point and 15 3/4" just before the nose goes round.

I've put a tiny bit of rocker through the length but no nose lift. Rails are 50/50 and quiet sharp with the nose being rolled under.

Sealed with linseed oil (thanks to Gavin Randall at Traditional Surfing Co for advice on that.

It's currently drying in the lounge and we are all digging the smell. What a Face

    Cheers

    G

Sunny down here Matt. Still cold though.

Not tried it yet. Hopefully a micro wave on Friday.

That's the smell of success Stu! Wink Don't worry, it does go. Just keep the mat in a deckchair bag.

The Paipo smells lush. Still have that light indeed aroma when I get in the car.

Tried this out today in weak waist high waves. It goes as well as hoped so I'm stoked!

Certainly more of a "board" than 'the Chisel' (which is more like a long handplane). You ride on this board, rather than behind it.

It lacks the speed of the mat of course but is still pretty quick and holds very nicely. Those back corners bit nicely to give a good drive through turns and the crescent tail is very comfortable.

Gets into waves really early too!

    cheers

Hmmm... I think this may have taken on a bit of water. Another go with the oil is in order.
