I'm planning on another magnifying spot on Fri. Getting there about 9am if the forecast holds.

Friday 16th looks just right for Spot T and the masses will have surfed themselves out making it even more appealing.

    Parking up at 9am.

Put in some time down meor today. Steep barrels and dodgy currents pretty much sums it up. My mat was not really right for the conditions methinks. A sponge would possibly have been a better choice. Who knows...

Practice makes perfect. Mats love barrels too.

    Interesting choice of spot mate.

Funny old swell on the south. Plenty of waves about but everyone I've heard from had an average to poor session.

Went out at first light in very hightide rivermouth.Looked medium size from cliff.Actually overhead barrelling madness. Some makeable, most thumping and dumping. After an hour, got out,and who should be ambling down the road but Phil and Andy!So we decamped to Porthkidney. Some small fun barrels and occasionally 3X bigger waves!Fun!

Excellent. See you in the morning. If this swell is too much there are other spots nearby so either way we're on.

Got in at Watergate on fading light. Surprisingly big and clean enough despite high tide swill. Had some long rights and some punishing drilldowns. It's a punchy swell alright.

Managed to lock my keys in the car (with clothes, phone etc) too, god only knows how. The hotel lent me a towel and ill fitting clothes (and the run of the spa bit) until a mate rescued me. Still managed to be caught having a quick naked shower when I thought no-one was around affraid

That was a really good session. A few closeouts early on but it sorted itself out to be pretty glassy with some good long rides. Rich Stansbie (head honcho at Prime Skatepark) joined us on a Blue Streak Standard he had off me ages ago but had never ridden. Best mat debut I've seen for sure with some great rides. Nobody nails bottom turns first time out!!!

Bizarrely, it started good and quiet, went sh*t and busy, then back to good and quiet. Funny how it goes....

Anyway, I'm super stoked! Awww yeeeeeah...

Yep,that was a laugh!A little closey, but some great takeoffs and fast rides.Rich had prob the best waves of everyone;his strategy of actually being Rob Birch of the seminal UK Hip-hopsters,Stereo Mcs,successfully threw many shortboarders in total confusion.
