Re: Fuerte..........
Been to Fuert quite a few times eating out is about the same as here, car hire is a must watch out for getting stuck in the sand!loads of breaks around Corralejo, North shore is the most consistant but gnarly, west coast can be good but windy take acouple of jumpers as can get cold at night, if its on Los Lobos right hander is classic.
Have a good trip.
Cheers

Re: Fuerte..........
Surfed Fuerte but not around Corralego was based at the other end of the Island I surfed Playa da la Pared easy access, beach around Cotillo and Playa de Esquinoz. the good news is these are all beach breaks but you will need a car to access most of the breaks as they are off road down dirt tracks Playa de Esquinoz is the one with a shipwreck on but there are plenty of other breaks on the track it is all down to how much punishment you want to put your car through. Loveley hollow waves but rippy you will need a 3mm suit and if you surf any reefs lookout for Urchins. Missus found it a bit bleak but I loved it

Re: Fuerte..........
I stayed on tenerife for about 6 weeks surfing in the south back in the late 70's and if its the place I think you are talking of I met some French guys who spent some time there and had good waves very differnt to the other islands.

La Gomera I think is the one you are talking about piskian.I go out to the Canarys Christmas or Easter most years for some winter sun thinking of a trip to Isla Graciosa at Easter depending on how easy it is to sort some digs out

Re: Fuerte..........
Cheers, thought it might be a bit gnarly at that time of year. Had hoped to get away with boardies. Either of you surfed El Burro? think its N.E.
My brother rates that other little island although he doesnt surf he did show me a photo of a decent point.

Re: Fuerte..........
Stayed at corralejo top right of island in 2009 and bodysurfed a few local breaks november time went in rash vest and boardies mmm cold just then and rocks not forgiving. Went again in oct 2010 to El Cotillo a lot quiter and fishing type village, top left of island, with 3mm full suit socks fins and bodysurfed and bodyboarded the beach breaks plenty of them.Didnt have a hire car as only there a week and a much needed rest both years so push biked it (literally across the duney areas) on the tracks to most breaks. Lovely people, island scenery, local food and an all over tan when you get off the beaten track if the surfs flat!!!

Re: Fuerte..........
done Fuerte & Lanza a few times.
In Fuerte I base myself in El Cottilo, has some nice reef breaks out the front (spew pits.... it is pretty gnarly to say the least) and all the famous breaks north, and just to the south of town it has some nice beach breaks. If you are going to surf the reef breaks I would recommend you take some repair patches and spare mat.... just in case you loose you grip...
