Excellent.28th should be nailed on. I'll see what I can do about 27th. I've surfed Spekes a few times. I've heard its pretty much always utterly rammed these days though.

Bugger... Family stuff on 27th as staying in Par on Boxing Day night. Might be able to do a Dawnie at Harlyn on 27th if you fancy a trek down Jerry.

Got to Croyed just on Low water, there were no more than seven in the water at any time reckon it was about 5ft when I first got in and it got bigger and bigger.First couple of waves just took the drop and went straight to get my eye in had a problem with not being able to paddle fast enought to catch as many waves as I would have liked in the end sat out deeper and took off on breaking shoulders. Couple of waves went through all four gears and was in overdrive never been so fast on a wave. Impact zone was brutal but only lost my mat once when I let it go to try and get under a monster about to break on my head my mat somehow ened up behind me so did not need to swim for it.Drove along the coast after my surf Putsborough was clean 2ft to 3ft and rammed solid but did see a really nice wave around Woolacombe that I wished I surfed.

The wind got up overnight and I ened surfing Putsborough all though a bit of a mess there was the odd wave that was keeping it,s shape

Sounds like a great trip! cheers

Woolly is a lovely wave but the paddle is a moose when its got some size. Unreal rips too. Can't believe you scored Croyde that quiet! Unheard of these days.

Your mat popping up next to you means you got drilled straight down in my book mate! affraid

It was all rippy, had to paddle out at Downend to get out at Croyde. Funny thing I saw was a standup taking off on a shoulder only for the wave to suck in and the stand up went in to freefall after that he sat on my shoulder for a while this was as near to a crowd as it got. At 6ft plus and a lot of waves closing out most took the safer option and surfed Puts

The wave at Woolacombe was on the way out in bettween a finger of rock and the headland (Morte? )looked like the tide had to be at least halfway out. The wave was quite wedgey and nowhere as crowed as Puts

I'm guessing Woolly would have turned out to be pretty big. I bet Lynmouth was firing along with a quieter Somerset option. Sounds like you did well Jerry. Croyde is a heavy wave. Twisted Evil
