Right then... Mixed thoughts but mostly good.
Basically, I think I've over-cooked the central pontoon. I did toy with lowering the middle I-Beams when designing and that would have been the best to get a good all-round mat. It doesn't hold that well as a result.
BUT
I have G-Mat 7 for hold. The benefit of the thicker middle is that the transition from rail-to-rail is super smooth. Not a hint of speed lost anywhere. Plus, the volume means glide. In fact, it means gliiiiiiiiiiiide.
I made this as a summer mat for weak dribbly waves and it will eat them up. To be honest, the sets today were wedgy and steep and it managed, although these aren't the conditions I would use it for.
So. 80% happy. If I made another I'd change it but it is a great option in a quiver.
