Looks like swell for the North Coast this weekend. SW winds mean shelter and Mother's Day means I'll only be surfing Friday and Saturday.

So then, who's up for them? Looks good for a trek down towards Hayle Rivermouth for the Friday Dawnie if anyone fancies that as a start. Things could change by then of course.

    Cheers

Looks like Sat might be more of a Rivermouth day. Maybe Polzeath or Crantock early on Friday. Porthtowan may be good on Friday early but can't afford that distance twice. Them fuel prices are mental!!!

OK then. Early doors tomorrow (Fri) looks to be middling sized (5ft 11sec or so). What do people reckon? Try Hayle Rivermouth on that or do it on Saturday? I need to be down West one of the days as I need to hook up with Gavin from Traditional Surfing Co.

You never listen to me(for good reason),but I reckon Sat better for The Mouth.Friday looks chutohanpa(halfbaked) for everywhere.
You could drive to Chivvy tomorrow though, and I could drive us to the break of your choice from there if you want to save petrol and do both days?*

I agree Saturday looks best but I think I need to do Friday on the north. Saturday looks pretty good local to me now and I need to take advantage of that cause I SERIOUSLY need to save some dough! pale

How about if we look at Rivermouth tomorrow but meet in the usual parking spot at 9 to give the swell a chance to build a bit. XC says the swinds are well SSW. We have Black Cliff and Mexican Towans as options then.

Otherwide the wind looks S enough to be funneled down the valley at PT.

Looking at the forecast, and given the fact that I'll be hangin' following my impending night shift, i think i'll probably be giving it a miss tomorrow morning. I'll probably try and score a session on saturday instead if anyone's interested. Unless the conditions drastically change, I'll probably be looking at a morning session at Polzy. Wink

Best make that super early to get the soft winds mate. Gotta a fair bit of west and picking up strength. Solid ol' swell too! Nearby northward facing spot might be a better option, or a nearby pointbreak.

Rivermouth was glassy and super clean!

Shame it was knee high. Sad We ended up checking every spot with a slightly northerly aspect all the way up the coast, eventually stopping at Crantock. They all had swell but a real bumpy, mixed up swell. Don't believe the eyeball reports that say otherwise. Aggie was fairly glassy but dumping with thee dangerous log riders out. Had a few fun ones at Crantock nonetheless. Certainly better than not surfing. In retrospect though, we should've bellyboarded the first spot!

Swell up here looks iffy now. I seem to be getting a cold anyway.

As a result of the forever changing surf forecast I now have a revised plan. I am going to head over to Harlyn at around 9am. Hopefully there will be enough swell and it shouldn't be too messed up by the 19mph SW's (assuming the forecast holds good)?!If the swell is a bit on the small side to get in there, there's always Trevone as a back-up.
