When I was living back East,surfed Rishiri,Rebun and Wakkanai coasts on Hokkaido,but my plan to blag a trawler trip to Sakhalin and on to Kamchatka peninsula was scuppered.Now the Bearded Ones have gone one better,check it out

Not as hardcore as the MiL-8 heliboarding on Mt Elbrus,where I watched the co-pilot collect leaking oil from the rotor engine block in corned beef tins,then pour it back in the top...
The Ladas had wire coathangers for accelerator pedals,and biro tubes holding the seatbelts in the anchor points.
Getting the job done!
