My XXLs are massive and the only way I can get a good fit is with those type of fin savers. With those you can tension the fins on properly.

I've padded with neoprene under mine. Straps being pulled off is more to do with looseness than thickness.

Heel strap already padded out with 5mm neoprene so Hydro fin savers won,t fit over the padding and I am wearing 4mm socks or when it was cold 5mm socks. Think half of the problem is went for XL instead of Large which probaly wouldn,t have needed to pad the heel strap in the first place. Will probaly go back to my PODS as these stay on my feet much better, anyone want to swap XL for Large.

G did you have any luck obtaining a source of old style Vipers

Take the padding off and put the fin savers on.

I would vouch for that. eBodyboarding is run by the lovely Jay Reale. There's info on fins HERE.

    Cheers

Took off the neoprene I had put on the heel strap and replaced it with those Hydro fin savers never had a problem at the weekend in fact stopped thinking about it until I got out hopefully problem solved . Found a large nick in the knee of my new wetsuit not quite all the way through hope to repair it with Soudal. Thats the third weekend on the trot I have managed to find waves this weekend waves got cleaned up niceley in the afternoon by the Northerley winds but could not make the most of them because we were going to see Florence and the Machine in the evening

Used it before on wetsuits about as good as Black Whitch both peel of with time but Soudal seems to be better on straight neoprene where it seems to key on to the cloth type surface and stay put. Run out of Black so repaired my suit with Grey Soudal, which now looks like I have been dive bombed by Seagulls

Well, people are gonna have to get out of the habit of calling Fix All High Tack "Soudal". It turns out that Soudal are now producing Tremflex 40 under the name Soudaflex 40FC.

    Confusing....

    G

PS I think Tremflex 40, AKA Tremco PU540, AKA Soudaflex 40FC might be better for wettie repairs. It's more sticky.

Only use 1 fin tether to be safe.... Some have near drowned when both flippers get ripped off and tangle together!

That can't happen with these ones Matt. They're not the mini leash style. These ones basically have a thin strap going from the heel strap of the fin, over the instep and connecting with the other side of the heel strap. It means the heel strap can't come off as opposed to traditional teathers which simply stop your fins going AWOL after they've gone.

If your fin somehow did come off with these it'd be gone. Can't see it happening though. Is certainly recommend them for places like the wedge. Easier to take off too.
